What is Dinner Mate?

Dinner Mate offers restaurant deals exclusive to the Northern Beaches ranging from 10%-50%. We started this business following COVID-19 to stimulate business in restaurants during their quiet hours.

Can we get the deals directly from the restaurants?

Dinner Mate has exclusive deals that are only made possible through our website. The restaurants do not offer these deals directly to the public.

Is Dinner Mate only offered in the Northern Beaches?

Currently, Dinner Mate is only offered in the Northern Beaches, however, in the future we plan on expanding into other areas.

Is Dinner Mate available on public holidays?

All restaurants have control over which dates they offer the discounts. But generally, no we don’t offer deals on public holidays.

Can I combine two bookings into one?

This is strictly prohibited. A maximum of 8 people per booking is only allowed. If you wish to make a large group reservation you can contact the restaurant directly; however, the restaurant does not have to agree to provide the discount.

Is this service also available for take-away?

This is a dine-in-only service. We currently don’t offer takeaway as this service is to encourage diners in the restaurant.

Are there refunds for the booking fee if I cancel my booking?

No refund will be automatically returned, however, please contact us directly to receive a coupon code which can be used as credit towards your next booking fee. 

How far in advance can you book?

We allow diners to book up to one week in advance and must give the restaurant a minimum of one hour’s notice.

How is the booking cost calculated?

The booking cost is determined by the number of attendees and the applicable discount percentage, calculated proportionally to ensure accurate pricing.

How does it work?

All restaurants list their availability which diners have access to on our website. To book a table, diners must choose a restaurant and date which suits them. A small booking fee is required to lock in the deal off the food bill for 1-8 people.

Are both food and drinks included in the discount?

Dinner Mate only offer deals on food. Drinks will remain at full price. Unless otherwise specified by the restaurant.

Maximum number of people per booking?

We only offer a maximum of 8 people per booking. This is the arrangement we have with the restaurants and we please ask that you respect this.

Are the discounts only offered for dinner?

Currently, we only offer discounted dining during dinner hours. However, breakfast and lunch options may be an area we choose to expand into in the future.

What happens if I am late?

If you are more than 15 minutes late the restaurant has the power to no longer offer this discount. This is to create a win-win environment for both customers and restaurants.

Is there a maximum of food I can order?

Over-ordering is not allowed. Meals must be ordered to eat within your allocated dining time. No taking away extra food.

Are there any exclusions?

Certain restaurants have certain items not included. Please look at the special conditions for each restaurant to determine these exclusions.

How do I cancel or amend my booking?

In the confirmation email following your booking, there will be a link at the bottom to cancel and modify your booking.
